eott solo drops

U K, G? V1 – £270

November 2019.

Our first drop! Raising £250 for the Music4Minds project; a DJ/Production workshop for underprivileged teenagers; with kids all coming from backgrounds of hardship relating to drugs, ill mental health, gangs and so on. Run by Top Kennie (Junior Buzz), they selflessly put on this free workshop on a monthly basis, having to make calls to so n so to grab a mic/headphones/soundcard… so it was cool that with this money we were able to buy them their own equipment, meaning they didn’t have to worry about gathering n borrowing goods each time, stress saved if you ask us.

MUSIC4MINDS

U K, G? V2 – £500

December 2019.

This time £500 raised. Again this went to Music4Minds, further adding to their equipment box with some speakers + a sound card, this bigger box of equipment also allowing them to start doing another workshop in North London as well as South, wicked.

Audio Active

U K, G? V3 – £1000

January 2020. £1000 raised.

This donation took a little longer to decide, we put some feeders out on Facebook n what have you, seeking some Music/Mental Health related initiatives, and ended up getting a few recommendations about AudioActive, a Brighton based Music charity. So we reached out to them, jumped on the phone to Adam Joolia (Founder) + arranged to go and get some eyes on what they do.

Adam walked us round the place n talked about a variety of different areas the money could have gone to, including 1 on 1 counselling sessions, music classes/workshops, equipment…but there was 1 particular initiative that stood out, n one they were lacking support in…

called ‘Room to Rant’; a music workshop whereby men come in and talk about their issues, but through rap + spoken word. The money raised will support its runnings for a few months + also help it open in 3 more locations across the county, powerful. Big respect to Adam too.

Brighton food banks

U K, G? V4 – £1780

May 2020.

This time we did 300 pieces, 300 fivers. We also had an ‘extra £5 donation’ button on our website this time, and got 56 of those! So a huge big ups goes out to everyone that pressed that. 356 fivers

Right in the mist of lockdown this time, we wanted to provide support to under priviliged areas/places/people of our hometown, so we shared all this money with foodbanks.

Including food banks such as TTTB (TimeToTalkBefriending) for specifically over 65s, Voices in Exile (targeted at refugees),  Brighton Table Tennis Club, Salvation Army, Whitehawk Foodbank, Tarner’s Childen Centre and Purple People Kitchen have received trolleys of lots of food – each of em getting between £180 + £250 worth!

Amazing.

U K, G? PRIDE - £315

August 2020. So this was our Pride ‘u k, g?’ drop. Raising £315 for MindOut.

Thank you to Lucy @ MindOut for all the help on this one, we bounced emails n phone calls back n forth for a good few weeks through this, advising us on the different areas that the donation money could support: suicide prevention support groups, peer mentoring, counselling or online support.

We decided to go for the counselling, and we’re told that our donation would provide 25 lessons, which is pretty good we think.

Brighton food banks

U K, G? V5 - £1250

October 2020.

IMG_3433.jpg

£1250. This was split again amongst a few food banks across Brighton, but this time for some more specific to particular demographics; for example Mutual Aid - Brighton’s only Vegan foodbank, they got £300 worth. £600 + £150 went to BMECP + Brighton Cauldron respectively, both BAME food banks who provide more culturally catered foods too, respect. Also, £450 went to our good friends at TTTB (TimeToTalkBefriending), there was some money leftover from our previous drop so we added it here, big love to Emily.

Krudd - April 2020

our ‘u k, g?’ collab with Krudd in April was for the NHS. 50% of profits being shared with them. Selling 186 tees, together we raised £1,199!

big love to Bru-C

UKF - November 2021

U K, G? X UKF.

It had to be done. This was always a sight in mind since U K, G? first started. Obviously the UKF is only a letter off so it’s ideal collab grounds, but also they are a global Kingpin in underground music, moreover a huge part of our own journey’s of musical discovery and tribe finding all those years back in 2011. Magnetic Man, Nero, DJ Fresh, Modestep, Flux Pavillionnnnnnn, come on now. A dream come true for us at eott.

£600 raised as well, for Help Musicians. Fire.

The Council of Bens - December 2024

We love the bens. Everyone loves the Bens. A big link up between ourselves and the Kings of energy.

‘IT’S GIVING’ - the fundraiser event in Bristol where we invited those in attendance to bring food for the homeless ahead of Christmas. Kind of like a harvest but also a rave? Take a look at this fat pile of clothes we were able to put together and share out. Community <3

Don’t Keep Hush - May 2022

Fred CC x eott

Ever since before eott was just an idea, Keep Hush have been a huge inspiration, and before eott even launched our boy Waddz had the bright idea of ‘oh when we do a Keep Hush, we can call it ‘Don’t Keep Hush’. Genius

Fast forward some years and Fred CC, Head Honcho of Keep Hush, gives us a shout back and says let’s do it. We whip up a new tee, get a bag of sick artists in it and talking about it. Then bang, another £600 raised for MusicMindsMatter. Large.

Pirate Studios - November 2022

The world’s biggest B2B ever? To raise money for mental health? Right up our street.

Unfortunately we didn’t quite beat the target of 180 DJs… but we did raise £1000! Big love to Pirate for inviting us along, a super fun day out at their Tottenham studios. We have to make a comeback one day…
