who we are
Officially EOTT Community Interest Company, eott is a project that exists to familiarise and energise mental health conversations for young people.
largely an events and space community that mixes the power of music with the necessity of mindfulness, we are also an online platform powering conversation through a range of digital messaging and campaigns.
we were tired of how mental health was exhaustingly and depressingly portrayed across culture, and so our idea was born to the world on October 10th 2019 with a desire to push mental health conversations in a way familiar to us. we have tried many things across those years and are consistently learning deeper about the difficulties of these conversations with both ourselves and the world, but to switch up the narrative into a more youth friendly and attractive way is so essential to us. it’s so much love to the likes of Mind, Samaritans, Young Minds and so many more incredible mental health charities and initiatives, but our style of communication is so much more inspired by the likes of Keep Hush, Odd Future, SBTV and Palace, and so it’s in ways taken from these that we want to talk about mental health.
we will reinstate that this is all a learning curve, and like with mental health itself eott is always looking to evolve. we were young 19 year olds in university when we started this, and these are not easy conversations to have, but our desire has always remained strong. we just want it to be easier and more normal to approach conversation, not only for ourselves but too for those around us.
supported so far by the likes of Public Health England, The North Face, We Out Here, Keep Hush, Pirate Studios and many more, and now in official partnership with AudioActive, Enjoolata Foundation and Lighthouse Future Creative Leaders for our first ever day festival on July 18th (see ‘lightworks tickets’ for details). the story is ever on-going.
